use to eat sushi on occasions without a care in the world and enjoyed every bite. Today, I wouldn’t dare risk the dangers knowing what I’ve learned. Preparing all raw meats, particularly pork, are risks for infection if you're not careful with handling and washing your hands; additionally, making sure there is no cross-contamination with other foods during preparation.
Another possible way to become infected is from the bathroom. When a toilet is flushed without a lid, microscopic eggs can become airborne; a person inhales the eggs and the internal parasite process begins. A household toilet that is flushed without the lid down shoots a volatile spray of microscopic toilet water particles in the air, easily reaching the ceiling. What goes up must come down and it is on you before you realize it. If you have a toothbrush next to a toilet, it’s best to keep it in a cupboard. There is no doubt that public facilities are the worst -- the flushing mechanism is extremely forceful with no lids on the toilets. I've seen women in the stalls who have put their purses, bags, and clothing on the floors; walk barefooted; and, a host of other mistakes that could cause an infection transmission.
Parasites or their eggs can be on another person’s hands due to poor hygiene; thus, allowing for easy transmission. Once you touch your face or mouth, they have easy access to your internal system with a rich environment for growth and breeding. I’ve seen clean-looking, educated smartly dressed women leave the restroom without washing their hands; the better ones would sprinkle water on their finger tips. It has been documented many times that door handles and knobs in public bathrooms are filthy. Washing needs to be done with hot water and soap, not a quick water rinse. If those women (and men) only knew. . . a silent ticking time bomb awaits in the future with ill-health issues. If they are infected, they could easily infect someone with a handshake or anything that they touch. I think the Asian culture was smart to implement a bow rather than a handshake for a greeting. Perhaps it would be wise to implement this custom.
Many people own pets and animals. People assume that their pets are clean because they wash or deworm them on occasions. Let's face facts, if your pet goes outside there is a high probability that they will pick up parasites on their paws and coats. Even house bound cats or birds -- it is known that cats carry a lot of parasites. Zoonatic infections are happening where owners are contracting parasites from their pets. If pet owners were more aware of the possibility of zoonatic infections they might not allow their pets to lick their faces, eat off of people's plates, and hand washing would occur more often before touching the face or handling foods.
As you can see, a person can become innocently infected. The simple tips above could minimize the risk of human infections from parasites.
CDC & WHO
In 1976, a nationwide survey in the United States conducted by the Centers for Disease Control revealed that 1 in every 6 people selected at random, had one or more parasites. I believe, that today parasitic infections are off the charts. Without exaggeration people are unaware that they maybe hosting numerous parasites.
The World Health Organization categorizes parasites as among the six most harmful infectious diseases in humans. Parasites burrow into digestive tract, bloodstream, sexual organs, muscle tissue, and travel underneath the skin; even more dangerous, they can invade a baby’s womb and migrate into the blood-brain barrier, heart, and other vital organs. Researchers are learning that parasites can alter people’s personalities and/or cause depression in people. There is also a strong possibility that diseases could be caused by many parasites invading the body – not just worms, but other parasites.
What I’ve shared is not parasite hype to scare anyone for the sake of it. I feel if people can watch gory movies, they are mature enough to know about the real body snatchers - parasites. The few physicians who understand the nature of parasite infections don’t want to inform their patients about the problem. They’ve been trained to treat their patients like children, because they don’t believe that adults would not be able to handle the truth. This might be true upon learning about it initially, like I was; for me, not really understanding their existence was far worse. The reality does exist and it is necessary to face the truth if you want to live a long and healthy life. If the real truth about parasites wasn’t kept as a big secret, it wouldn’t be a huge shock and people would accept their existence much like our grandparents or great-grandparents did during their generations. There would also be better systems in place for detection along with treatment protocols that could effectively do the job without causing more harm to the person.
The other sad truth is that many doctors are told that parasites are NOT a serious problem. This is completely untrue -- it is a serious health risk that costs lives. A global problem does exist; not in distant places, but possibly in your home.
We have all been lead to believe that HIV/AIDS is killing millions of people worldwide. What is not widely known is that there are a host of other organisms associated with the infection -- most HIV/AIDS people have parasites and Candida (a parasitic fungus that can become pathogenic). Did you know this? These two pathogenic organisms can go hand-in-hand working within symbiotic relationship; thus, pathogens are contributing co-factors to someone's ill-health. Parasites carry organisms within them and their mobility can help transfer something to another site within a person's body. Not only does HIV/AIDS need to be addressed but the parasitic infections that exist. What good will it do to take care of HIV/AIDS when various parasites are running rampant within someone contributing to a low immune system? There are thousands of people in the world who don't have HIV/AIDS, but who have died from parasitic worm/protozoa infestations or pathogenic Candida. Therefore, it only makes sense to ask, does anyone really know what AIDS people die from -- is it progessive HIV, Candida, a parasitic infection, something else, or a combination of these co-factors?
Parasite transmission could be reduced dramatically if more people were in awareness with implementing good hygienic practices. This doesn't mean that you need to keep yourself in a hygienic bubble from infection out of paranoia. In truth, that won't help much because there will be microbes around not matter what you do. Our entire body system is a conglomerate of microbes making us who we are. Aside from good hygiene, an added plus is to keep the immune system intact so that parasites aren't allowed to become pathogenic or infectious. The new age of technology is good, but common sense and age old wisdom about how to take care of ourselves has been lost. In considering all that I've shared, you would accept certain facts and deworm yourself along with your pets, often. It makes perfect sense to keep parasites off of you as much as possible.
In my follow up articles, I’ll share my experiences, information on allopathic or alternative approaches, and working with practitioners. Additionally, I’ve gathered some statistics on parasite infections that may be of interests. What you don’t know is that parasite infections/infestations are killing people at an alarming rate annually -- it is true. Without proper acknowledgement from “the establishment” people will continue to be infected at an alarming rate. Please get informed and know the truth.
