My Colonoscopy and Endoscopy
By Jane on Mar 1, 2008 | In My Story | Send feedback »
The 4 months were up. It was time for colonoscopy and endoscopy. Nothing had changed with regards to my symptoms.
I had both procedures on the same day. The preparation before the colonoscopy and endoscopy was awful. Not being allowed to eat after 6pm the day BEFORE the procedure was difficult. 24 hours before you are only allowed to consume clear liquids, no solids. You have to drink this phosphate drink. It practically clear you out! It was awful. I did wonder about drinking this stuff and wondering what they would find when it absolutely cleared me out, flushing everything away. That’s what it felt like.
The Next 4 Months Agony

After my last Doctor’s visit I knew I was in for a long wait. I was on the waiting list for a colonoscopy/endoscopy. What was I to do for the next 4 months? Suffer, that was the long and short of it. I was still suffering the daily symptoms, the aggressive flare-ups AND I was still going in to work. It was around this time I began to keep a diary of my daily symptoms and how I was feeling emotionally. I felt this would help me. My daily entries were practically identical.
My GP Visits

Before I fell ill I was never a regular visitor at my Doctor’s surgery. I felt my health was good. Apart from having the odd cold, chest infection around winter, that was about it. But In March 2003 when I fell ill things changed drastically for me.
Adventures in "polypharmacy"
By Kara on Feb 19, 2008 | In My Story | Send feedback »
In recent years, due to the many illnesses I have, I have been on many, many medications. I have lots of specialists who all - for seemingly excellent reasons - prescribe multiple meds. Last year my drug copays were around $4,000. That does not include all the vitamin supplements and over the counter meds. The allergist had (has) me on 3 simultaneous allergy meds, the neurologist on several meds for migraine management, the psychiatrist anxiety meds, my primary doctor on meds for fluid retention and blood pressure and on and on. And, because of the gastric bypass I have to take many vitamins and supplements - like extra B12 injections, extra B vitamins, extra D, extra iron, extra calcium plus general multivitamins. You get the idea.

Parasite Eggs, “Shedding” and Samples

There seems to be some assumptions or misconceptions made about whether or not something can be found in submitted samples. Perhaps this was started by the very labs who aren’t necessarily looking for parasites because some procedures and observations can be laborious.
It is no great secret that one ascaris roundworm can lay 250,000 eggs per day; one tapeworm lays 500,000 eggs per day; and one hookworm (depending on the species) lays 7,000-28,000 per day. These 3 parasites are the most infectious among humans. Pinworms and Toxoplasma gondii “the cat parasite” are others. There are many parasites, obviously, numbered into the thousands and all of them lay eggs into the thousands, per day. Think about that for a moment! A lot of eggs are being laid inside of a person.

I have been considering where to start when trying to explain my story. My health history is long and complicated. To begin with, let me give you an overview - and in later posts I’ll go into greater detail.
I’m just shy of 37. I’ve been married since 2002. My children are my dog, cats and garden. I would like to have kids - but I’ve been too ill in recent years to try to have children. Maybe someday that will change…

Hi ![]()
I’d like to tell you my experiences with regards to my fight in regaining my health. Like I said in my introductory blog, I’ve been ill for 5 years now. It all started in March 2003. Never did I imagine that I’d be AS ill and for SO long.

What Happened to Proven Science?
Restorative Health Research Plus™ - www.rhrplus.com
Before fully establishing RHR Plus™ I had two long-time friends call me about their health problems. Each had negative results with reputable labs. . . . I knew the scenario all too well and didn’t like the fact that people were being taken advantage of with endless “tests and examinations”.
Let me Introduce Myself

Hello ![]()
I would like to introduce myself. My name is Jane. I hope, by writing my blog, that I may be able to offer some valuable knowledge through my personal experiences with regards to my fight to regain my health. It’s been a long journey for me, searching for answers. It has, by no means, been easy. I’m very proud of myself for getting this far. Through my own self-belief and gritted determination I feel I am ready to tell my story. If I’m able to help one person out there, then I’ve made a difference.
My first blog is merely to introduce myself. I hope, in future blogs, that you’ll come to understand and learn through experiences such as mine and take comfort in knowing that there is help out there.
It’s been nice ‘meeting’ you.
Jane.
